The edema surrounding the abscess decreases the perfusion of the white matter, accentuating the normal perfusion of the adjacent gyri. The area of high signal intensity on ASL surrounding the abscess (arrowhead) represents the normal adjacent gray matter. B, Toxoplasmosis on ASL.
