A 48-year-old woman with a history of posterior fossa ependymoma treated with surgery and radiation therapy presented with unilateral severe headache, vision loss, and aphasia.
A previously healthy 34-year-old man presented to the emergency department after a gunshot wound to the left thigh. The trauma team performed an exploratory surgery in response to persistent hypotension and arterial bleeding. The patient did not regain consciousness after surgery with immediate neurologic examination featuring a GCS of 1T1. Six hours following the operation he was found to have a fixed, widely dilated left pupil.
