The second annual meeting of the American Society of Spine Radiology (ASSR) was held in Naples, Florida, February 14–17, 1999.

This annual symposium was designed to provide a broad overview of practice aspects of modern spine imaging and intervention. Each day of this 3-day meeting was devoted to different pathologic entities or interventional options. Day 1 of the meeting focused on spinal degenerative/acquired pathology and inflammatory disease.
