In the article “Does Diffusion-Weighted Imaging Represent the Ischemic Core? An Evidence-Based Systematic Review” by P.G. Kranz and J.D. Eastwood (AJNR Am J Neuroradiol 30:1206–12), the first sentence of the abstract should read: Diffusion-weighted (DWI) hyperintensity is hypothesized to represent irreversibly infarcted tissue (ischemic core) in the setting of acute stroke. The Journal regrets this error.
