    Images obtained by using bone window settings for a 44-year-old man with a nondisplaced occipital bone fracture. A, Bone image. B, Brain image. C, Combined multikernel image. Though the skull fracture is detectable on all images, the quality of the brain image is distinctly poorer than the quality of the other 2 images. The quality of the combined multikernel image is almost equal to that of the bone image.
