Neuroblastoma-like Schwannoma (NBLS)
- Background:
- NBLS is an extremely rare variant of a schwannoma with aggressive features on imaging.
- Key Diagnostic Features:
- T1 hypointense, STIR hyperintense, with uniform enhancement and cortical destruction
- Differential Diagnoses:
- Can be confused with round blue cell tumors histologically; mimics a solitary plasmacytoma radiologically
- Treatment
- Surgical resection is curative, with radiation therapy reserved for refractory cases.
