T1-weighted postcontrast MR image (A) acquired shortly after the onset of symptoms shows the 7-year-old resection cavity, but appears unchanged from prior scans. T1-weighted postcontrast MR image (B) acquired 5 days after A, following another seizure, demonstrates cortical enhancement (between arrows) in a large area around the resection cavity. Repeat T1 MRI (C) performed 6 days after B shows a return to baseline with resolution of the enhancement.
