Copper beaten skull is the prominence of the convolutional markings (gyral impressions on the inner table of the skull [A–C, yellow arrows]), due to an increase in intracranial pressure which leads to effacement of cisterns (A, white arrow) due to craniosynostosis. Lacunar skull of the newborn (Luckenschadel skull) is a membranous bone dysplasia present at birth, not related to craniosynostosis or hydrocephalus, with spontaneous resolution by 6 months. Convolutional markings are inner-table indentations, a normal variant of growth. Cleidocranial dysostosis is a rare dysplasia with some typical stigmas (eg, broad mandible, high arched palate, and short fingers).
