Erb-Duchenne palsy is a paralysis of the arm caused by injury to the upper trunk of the brachial plexus that usually results from shoulder dystocia during a difficult birth. The classic MR imaging features are pseudomeningoceles (arrows) due to root avulsions of the brachial plexus. It should be distinguished from Dejerine-Klumpke palsy, which results from an injury to the lower roots (C8 and T1) of the brachial plexus.
