Subependymomas are rare, benign, slow-growing tumors with noninvasive characteristics. They are most often found in the 4th ventricle, followed by the frontal horn of the lateral ventricle. The tumors usually appear as well-defined lobulated intraventricular masses and may harbor small intratumoral cysts (small red arrows) and calcification, especially in large tumors. Subependymomas are iso- to hypodense on noncontrast CT scans. On MRI, they are hypo- to isointense on T1WI (yellow arrow in A) and heterogeneously hyperintense on T2WI (yellow arrow in B). Enhancement varies from none to mild (arrow in C).
