Esthesioneuroblastomas, also known as olfactory neuroblastomas, are rare tumors arising from the basal layer of olfactory epithelium in the superior nasal cavity. About 37% of these tumors present with intracranial extension. The presenting features are nasal obstruction, epistaxis, hyposmia, exophthalmos, and diplopia. The classic MR imaging findings include an avidly enhancing nasal vault mass (A and B, white arrows) that extends intracranially, and peritumoral cysts (A, B, and C, yellow arrows).
