Humans are naturally inclined to moral stimuli, and judge the social behaviors of others according to moral beliefs, intentions, and outcomes (Decety et al., 2008; Moll et al., 2002a; Smetana, 1981). When people process moral information, they may compare their initial moral intuitions with moral norms, and this process is known as moral reasoning (Van Bavel et al., 2015).
