The extent of peripheral nervous system (PNS) involvement in MS has been a subject of debate for decades and remains poorly characterized (Poser, 1987, Thomas et al.,1987). Both axonal and demyelinating peripheral nerve pathology has been reported in case series, including sensorimotor axonal polyneuropathy, radiculopathy and chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyradiculoneuropathy (CIDP), in both symptomatic and asymptomatic MS patients (Cortese et al., 2016, Sarova-Pinhas et al., 1995, Sharma et al., 2008).

Actually, in the patients with MS, onion-bulb formation has been considered to be the PNS analog of the CNS plaque; both of them have a similar patho-genetic mechanism (Poser, 1987). Moreover, the peripheral myelin could contribute to MS. It is notable that (Hasson et al. (1958)) were the first to provide a comprehensive study on the PNS in MS. It has been found that among 20 cases, 6 ones experienced serious and diffused demyelination, while the other 6 cases ranged between slight and moderate.
