  • Neurocardiology

    2017, Handbook of Clinical Neurology
    Citation Excerpt :

Microvascular perfusion has been demonstrated to be normal by myocardial contrast echocardiography in the SAH dog model (Zaroff et al., 2000b). Clinical case reports have also failed to demonstrate decreased perfusion in SAH myocardium (Chang et al., 1998). Thus, there is little evidence for decreased perfusion or ischemia on a macro- or microvascular level.

  • Cardiac complications after aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage

    2007, Surgical Neurology
    Citation Excerpt :

Elevations of troponin have also been observed [10,11,20,35]. These changes are often evident in patients without preexisting cardiac disease or electrolyte abnormality, and coronary angiography in this population has failed to demonstrate underlying CAD [4,12,16,19,23,24,28,36,41]. The cardiac changes after SAH appear to resolve spontaneously, and the risk of death related to the apparent cardiac pathology appears to be low[28,36,41,42].
