Percutaneous cryoablation of symptomatic extraabdominal metastatic disease: preliminary results

AJR Am J Roentgenol. 2005 Mar;184(3):926-30. doi: 10.2214/ajr.184.3.01840926.

Abstract

Objective: The objective of our study was to describe our initial experience using percutaneous cryoablation for palliation of symptomatic extraabdominal metastases or recurrent soft-tissue tumors.

Conclusion: Preliminary results suggest that percutaneous cryoablation may offer a minimally invasive alternative for relief of symptomatic metastatic disease in patients for whom conventional therapy failed.
