I am honored to present this special collection of articles sponsored by Lilly, which highlights groundbreaking advances in imaging techniques and their pivotal roles in the evaluation, diagnosis, and management of Alzheimer disease (AD) and related neurodegenerative disorders. The ever-expanding landscape of therapeutic options, particularly the emergence of anti-amyloid immunotherapies, demands continuous innovation in imaging biomarkers and methodologies to meet the challenges of precision medicine in neurodegenerative diseases.

This special collection underscores the immense contributions of neuroradiology to the understanding of dementia and AD pathophysiology, providing critical insights for clinicians, researchers, and patients alike. Topics range from the utility and limitations of automated volumetric software and PET/MR attenuation correction in longitudinal imaging studies, to cutting-edge applications of arterial spin-labeling MR imaging and advanced deep-learning models for brain segmentation. Additionally, the collection addresses the growing importance of monitoring amyloid-related imaging abnormalities (ARIA) in the context of emerging AD treatments, as well as sex-specific patterns of cerebral atrophy and their implications for tailored approaches to diagnosis and management.

These articles reflect the concerted efforts of global leaders in neuroradiology and neuroscience, whose work bridges the gap between imaging technology and clinical application.
