Nerve root canals of the lumbar spine

Spine (Phila Pa 1976). 1984 Jan-Feb;9(1):16-8. doi: 10.1097/00007632-198401000-00005.

Abstract

The nerve root canal is an essential part of the spinal canal. Though it is an appendage of the spinal canal, the nerve root canal, like the inguinal canal, has its own anatomical boundaries and relationships. A knowledge of its anatomy is necessary in the understanding and treatment of low back pain.
